## Fostering Culture of Integrity in Workplace At Bateriku.com, we are committed not only to operational excellence and customer satisfaction, but also to cultivate a workplace that upholds standards of ethics and integrity. In line with this, we were honoured to host representatives from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) for a vital session on workplace integrity and anti-corruption practices. The engagement session shed light on the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 (Akta SPRM 2009) which serves as the basis of anti-corruption legislation in the country. There are three key offences under the Act, including: 1. Bribery - Giving or receiving any form of gratification to influence actions or decisions. 2. False Claims - Making claims for payments, reimbursements, or services that are fictitious or inflated. 3. Abuse of power - Using one's position for personal or associated gain. Additionally, the SPRM highlighted a critical amendment introduced in 2018: Corporate Liability under Section 17A. This provision holds organisations accountable if their employees or associated persons are found guilty of corruption. The law requires companies to take proactive steps to prevent corrupt practices or risk facing legal consequences, including fines and imprisonment of top executives. This shift signifies the importance of not only individual accountability but also institutional responsibility in maintaining ethical standards. Companies are encouraged to implement adequate procedures as a defence against corruption under Section 17A. ### Why Workplace Integrity Matters Workplace integrity forms the foundation of trust within an organization.
